My blog focuses on secularity as a solution for the Lebanese political issue.
Civil war is the greatest fear of all Lebanese citizens; it's a nightmare everyone suffers since 1975; and last incidents that occurred in Beirut and all Lebanese regions increased this obsession.
If we stop to think what the reasons of this issue are, we find it's mainly caused from the merge of religion into politics. Civil war took place more than 30 years ago, and still goes on every time politicians disagree. This brings us to a conclusion that religion and politics can never unite in creating a society.
Secularity calls for separating religion from politics. It's not an attack against religion, it's not a call for atheism…it's a call for creating a civil society and attaining citizenship. A person becomes a citizen due to his relation with land and governmental organizations, not according to his religion.

As youth journalist, and as the future generation, we have the right for creating and demanding a civil Lebanon, we have the right to end this war nightmare and religion based fights.
We have the right of belief, we all refer to a certain religion, and we all believe in god. But this faith should not interfere with the true act of creating and building a society where we could only be citizens.

There is a huge misunderstanding of secularity as a concept and it's mostly compared to atheism. Due to this misunderstanding and confusion, I decided this topic to be the subject of my blog so I can inform everyone about secularity and how can we build a civil society without attacking religion.
What are the schools of secularity and what does it aim for. This blog gives a complete and simple explanation of this term.

Creating a personal blog was exciting and I had the chance to post things I like everyone -especially my classmates- to see and know, in addition to the ability to communicate with others through their comments, polls etc… secularity is the subject of my graduation project and it's a message I hope to deliver for everyone in order to attain citizenship, in a civil country (Lebanon)

I followed several steps to create my blog.
The steps are the following:

1-I set up a gmail account
2- I accessed www.blogger.com
3-Clicked on create a blog
4- Named my blog (title)
5- I put in the URL
6- I chose a template and made sure it suits the subject of the blog
7- After I created my blog, I started editing and posting
8- I edited my profile (about me)
8-Click on add text/image…
9- Inserted pictures of people who founded civil organizations, and philosophers who coined the term (secularity)
10- I wrote texts on word Microsoft and posted them on my blog

11-i wrote introduction to my blog, explanation of the subject and the reason I chose it ,my experience while shooting my documentary and people I met, interviews I made with dr. Nasry Sayegh the who founded maison Laique and definition of secularity from encyclopedias and books.

12- I inserted polls to know how interactive my viewers are with this subject

13- I allowed comments to know my viewer's reaction
14-i saved these changes and viewed my blog
15- I saw the final result, and it was great!!!

Thank you for this great course D. Sanaa, it was really useful and fun!!!

I added several websites about my subject where my viewers can get more information and details;
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/secularity
www.secularity.com/
atheists.meetup.com/
religion.ssrc.org/reforum/speers.pdf

I also added some photos of philosophers who invented the term (secularity) and the origin of the word.

I Hope it would be a good source of correct and trustful information.

All youth meantime are involved into politics, social issues… and they translate their thoughts and behaviors through several ways. One of them is writing, which is my way too. None of us doesn’t like his/her articles to be read by the maximum number of people. By creating my own blog, I found myself more in touch with my articles’ readers, especially when they post their comments and give their opinions about hat you’ve written. Starting from here, I created my own blog which targets all youth from different majors, aiming from that to deliver my own point of view concerning different topics.
My blog consists of articles written by me and others written about me, pictures; in addition to ads, polls, useful links…

Steps making the blog:
1.I accessed the www.blogger.com
2.clicked on create blog
3.named my blog “ Rania Sanjar “
4.put in the URL ://http raniasanjar.blogspot.com
5.chose a suitable template
6.started editing my profile where I wrote brief description about me
7.chose a suitable image for me
8.inserted other pictures of me taken with journalists and politicians
9.started posting articles and inserting images to each
10.at the head of the blog I wrote a sentence to introduce myself to the blog’s viewers
11.inserted polls to know how interactive the viewers are with my blog
12.allowed comments not only for registered members, and that’s to know viewer’s opinion towards my articles
13.inserted ads to attract viewers
14.saved the changes and saw the blog

Thanks alot for this great result!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blog before this semester was only a word I always hear about from time to time, in televisions, in newspaper but haven’t actually tried it.
In this semester after it was obligate to make a blog, I started exploring about blog in different websites and different location and domains, but the simplest and easiest was at BlogSpot or also known by blogger
So the first step was to register an account in blogger.com, a Gmail was acquired which I entered my email on Gmail that I have been using a time ago, after signing up in blogger I followed the steps for making the blog passing through the templates and also exploring others blogs to see what I’m capable and what I have to do.
The second step was to fill up the blog which I have started with my profile, adding a photo and some texts and information.
The third step was to come up with a subject for my blog in addition to its title and address, so I’ve choose the late Lebanese prime minister Raffic El-Hariri as a topic then selected a proper address and the work began to fill up the following blog,
http://relhariri.blogspot.com/

Naming the blog and choosing the topic was the easy part, as for the content of the blog well almost everything posted on this blog are from my work, from the pictures(taken from my “Photobucket” album), the videos (from my “YouTube” account), text (from my writings or from my mother’s writings).
So summarizing my work in some few steps that I took:
1- Signed up a blogger account using my Google e-mail account ghazayel@googlemail.com.
2- Chosen a template to start working on with the basic needs to be filled such as the profile and a title: “Raffic El-Hariri”.
3- Posted some of my works especially some poems and writings by pasting them from word documents and also adding photos to the post by saving them from my computer or from a website.
4- After figuring out some of the specification of BlogSpot, I started being creative in it, such as adding a banner as a header, a slideshow, a RSS feed (from the 14march website).
5- Then I started working more on the html element on the blog beginning in adding videos by copying the embeem code from any YouTube video page into the posting section but pasted inside the HTML box, that will eventually show up as a video post. Just as an explanation of why not just posting a video from the video option inside BlogSpot, the answer is that from YouTube it is faster especially when the video is already published on the internet so why republish it and loose time also when having some internet connection problem as we have in Lebanon?
6- Also looking into my blog page we can see a “visitor counter”, “countdown timer”, “Today in history” application, these application were added as separated post from the HTML option in adding a page element, the code of these program were taking from a HTML language website called BRAVENET, where after registering there and creating the application, I copied the code and then pasted it inside BlogSpot’s HTML script, in addition to below my headers section, “the dedication” we can see a text that is moving also made up with html language taken from “Microsoft office FrontPage” program.
7- My link section was dedicated to some other blogs such as my doctor’s blog and my friend’s blogs.
8- And there is also the pool section that I have added with a 2-choice-question.

After counting what I did to my blog-page, I should mention that I have previously worked with HTML language, and also have a wide experience in internet but not in blogging in particular, some of my internet skills are invested in a website that I have created but with no time to update it http://www.ghazayel.cjb.net/ .
Just for record and don’t want to brag about it or anything, I helped several of my friends in creating their blogs not by delivering them on a silver plate, but only by showing them the road on making a blog and letting them continue the work.
At the end, my blog’s address is http://relhariri.blogspot.com/ , enjoyed working on the blog, and of course enjoying taking this class and having a teacher like you, finally some teachers with computer and internet knowledge!! :D
N.B.: After reading this report and surfing my blog, if there’s something missing please do tell me so I could take some measures to fix it.

My blog address: http://www.kofieh.blogspot.com

Although kofieh is not only a Palestinian symbol but as well an Arabic symbol, I have decided that my blog will as well be as such. It might seem though concerned in the first place in Palestinian matters (which is related to the Arab matters and vise versa) after all.

All the contents reinforce the image of the Palestinians who are not going to rest till they get back to their roots back home in Palestine.

And because there are many challenges and obstacles faces their goal (locally, nationally, and internationally). For instance, the war on terrorism doesn’t only affect the path of the Palestinian resistance but as well every resistance movement in the Arab world and the Islamic world. I have decided to high light things that would help in achieving that goal and to never give up on hope and faith in justice, also to shed the light on how we as Palestinians as Arabs and as Muslims are being confronted with propagandas in which we must do something about.

This is a blog for everybody who is interested in seeing a new different side of Palestine and Palestinians. This side is rarely exposed by mass media, thus rarely seen and rarely known by the masses. This is an attempt to shed the light on that specific area, so that Palestinians can break free from their own and others stereotypes.

Steps I followed:
•Created an account on Gmail.
•Signed up in www.blogger.com using my Gmail account.
•Logged in and chose the name, put the url address for my blog and wrote the description for it.
•Chose the blog templates.
•Filled my profile.
•Posted some poems for Jafrah, stories, articles for Naji al Ali, songs, links, pictures and videos by going to customize then add page element and so forth. Some of the posted items where derived from my own computer (saved items) others from youtube, and using my photobucket account to post photos as a slideshow.
•I hade to edit and save several times till I got used to it and till I got the results I wanted.
•I directly mentioned the sources for my posted items and added the necessary links for further information about the same item for the visitors.

How to create a blog?

Blog is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.

Now we’ll learn how to make a blog in 3 easy steps:

• Create an account:
First of all, you should create a google account or a gmail, so you type an e-mail address with a password, and insert a display name, then you agree the “Blogger Terms of Service” that concern the proper use, privacy, general practices regarding use and storage, content of the service, intellectual property rights, publicity, representations and warranties, termination, suspension and many other things that lead your work on the blog.

• Name your blog:
The second step of creating a blog, is to name it as exemple (prefreedom) then you enter the blogg address as URL (www.prefreedom.blogspot.com) and you should check if the address is available.
• Choose a template:
After you have created your blog address, you should choose a template, as a custom look for the blog, You can easily change the template later, or even create your own custom template design once your blog is set up.

Your blog has been created!

We've just created a blog. Now, you can add your posts to it, create your personal profile, or customize how your blog looks.
Some tips while you are blogging:
- When you post your articles, change the fonts with the “font” toolbar, and add a picture or a video, after finishing the editing of the posts, click “publish posts” and you can see the work you have done by clicking “view blog”.
- In the toolbar “settings”, you can put a description to your blog, and choose global settings or you can direct the comments at your blog and the archiving.
- If you click the “layout” toolbar, you’ll find your page elements that you can change or adding new elements, you can change the fonts and coulours of the blog too or pick a new template.
- Don’t forget to edit your profile on the dashboard in “edit profile” so you can put your picture and some general infornmations about you so you could become familiar with your readers.

Dear D. Sanaa Hammoud, My address blog is www.prefreedom.blogspot.com, and I am waiting for your comments, hope it will be as good as you thought we will do. Thank you for passing us your experience in blogging, it was a wonderful experience.

* الخطوات المتتالية “Steps”

Kattars.1@gmail.com .

Name the blog

How did I make my blog?

Dear Dr Hammoud,
The topic you ask us to present was on “how did we make the blog”, and for this I would like to tell you about some details I followed to create a blog address I liked for my own.
After making the registration on g.mail to have the account demanded for blogging (deniseyammine@gmail.com), I followed the steps on www.blogger.com in which a simple tutorial leads the web visitors who wants to create their own blog.
. Once the blogger.com homepage is dressed, three steps appears on the page: - create an account (which refers to the gmail account I already have) – Name the blog (which refers to the step we give our blog its name: www.politicosocialissues.blogspot.com ) – Choose template (which refers to the designing step, the template is the layout of the blog)
. I tried to make my own blog as serious as possible just to feel the politico-social subject inside. I made my own profile: edit profile  share my own profile  write email address (deniseyammine@gmail.com)  display name (politicosocial)  first name  last name  photo URL (I browsed for a personal photo on my desktop)  gender  interests  About me ( I wrote a simple message that appears under my personal photo on the web: im a journalist, i work for a lebanese newspaper, i just wanted to share my ideas with those interested in it and searching for communicating with all of you because i believe that young people can make changes or at least divert a new way of thinking that can make even a little difference in our society)  favorite music  favorite books  save profile
. I started posting my articles already published in the newspaper I work for (albalad). I chose 6 local articles with its pictures added this way : customize  posting  publish post
. I inserted a video bar and a slide show to make the blog more alive: customize  add a page element  video bar/slide show  add to blog  save changes
. I added several friend’s email to my blog so I can have my blog mailed to whenever I publish and also receive their comments: customize  settings  Email  BlogSend address  publish email immediately  save settings
. I also commented on 3 blogs of my colleages just to make the communication space larger
Thank you Dr. for your help and wish the blog shown below and the presentation above are as well as you are expecting.
Sincerely,
Denise yammine

Hi my favorite doctor. I'm Nahed Youssef your student in the faculty of media and documentation- section 1.
I made my blog about me because I think my life is interesting since I have been living three years alone without my family which was a turning point in my life. I made my own life, my activities and had important contacts by myself.
In addition to my vedio clip that was on tv on 1-11-2006 at the second anniversary of rafik hariri's birthday after his assassination.

The steps I took to make this blog:
I made an account on gmail which is nahed.youssef@gmail.com
I accessed www.blogger.com
Clicked on create a blog
I Named my blog (title)
I put in the URL
I chose a template and made sure it suits the subject of the blog
After I created my blog, I started editing and posting
I edited my profile (about me)
Click on add text/image…
I posted photos about my activities
I wrote texts on word Microsoft and posted them on my blog

i wrote introduction to my blog, explanation of the subject and the reason I chose it.
I posted my vedio clip.

I inserted polls to know other's opinion about me and whom should I become: nahed the journalist or nahed the singer (ofcourse i chose to be a journalist but it's just a funny poll)
I allowed comments to know my viewer's reaction
i saved these changes and viewed my blog.

And this is it.. here's my blog I hope u like it. Thanks for everything doctor.
By the way, I'm waiting your voting for me .. lol.

"Kadset wra2"

The idea of this blog has a lot to do with me as a person and as a young journalist.
It is a "Kadseh", a pile, because it doesn't believe in being just a paper or two...
What's in it is in "wra2", or papers, like most of things we try to say about Tebbeneh, it mostly stays on paper.

The fact that i have lived 18 years of my life in Tripoli makes it impossible to heal from the critical situation that resides in some parts of it, like it is the case with "Tebbeneh".
It is our duty, as journalist first, and then as young Lebanese to highlight the social and humanitarian atrocity under which the region's people live.

This course allowed me to find new ways of expressing myself, a new shelf to put my "kadset wra2" on.

Since i alread had an active gmail account, the task was to extend my use of the site's services to blogging.
After logging on, i had to choose a name for the blog, as well as edit my profile details.

Inside the blog, it was time to choose the set of items to post.
it is mostly composed out of a selection of texts about Tebbeneh that i have taken from my portfolio.
On the side, i posted a pole regarding wh's responsible of what's happening in the region. For those who know Tebbeneh, it would be clear to choose, as for thos who don't the texts will surely give them a brief idea of what's going on.
Pictures are part of the text>
As for links, two sections were added. The first one is my portfolio, and the second one has some links concernign Tebbeneh and what was written about the region online.
No videos were added, because i found none that could be relevant to the topic.

Thank you for your patience,

Best Regards,
Sara B.
